DECALS for the Kitchenaid mixer!!! OMG. Why do I not already have these? Why didn't *I* think of that? Those would have made an excellent stocking stuffer. I have a red mixer, I think I need the flames. I don't even care that everyone has them. I still want them. I didn't even know they existed. Brilliant.
Anyway, I'm off to campus today to get my student ID, which also serves as a credit card to get my books and stuff. I'm jazzed because I don't have to spend money I don't have yet on books and such. I might come home with an IPOD. No, seriously, I want one so bad. I actually want a Nano. I wonder if dh would kill me, lol.
Neall battled strep throat this week and is finally on the mend. The result is a daddy who has an extra day off. He's not feeling great so the day isn't going to be super busy, but he's not feeling so bad he can't move (like Thursday) so it's not a total wash either. I wish we had a sitter and enough money to see a movie. I really want to see Twilight now that I've blown through all of the books. Dh read them too and wanted more gory detail. Men. I liked the allusion to detail. I made it all up in my head, and I'm sure it was cooler than she would have made it. I tried to convince Neall that this was better but he's not buying it. He wanted gore. I warned him that these aren't your typical vampire books, but he didn't listen.
Finn is better than me at Mario Kart. He has gotten first in every single blasted race. I can't even FINISH half of them before I'm lapped so bad that they just end the game. He finished first in every one. What's up with that? Rainbow Road man, how does he finish Rainbow Road??? Little turd. I love him but... So not fair to be creamed at MarioKart by a 6 year old.
Speaking of 6yo's. I asked Finn what he wanted to do for his birthday this year. HIs birthday is a couple of months away but I wanted to get a head start. Finn's tastes have gotten more elaborate over the last year. I probably have some work ahead of me. So anyway, yeah, not a good question to ask, lol. Every idea he comes up with involves elaborate cakes which somehow end up getting thrown, flung, or chopped through with swords. The castle theme includes a cake catapult. The Star Wars cake includes ships to shoot cake at each other. The ninja cake includes everyone having their own cake and swords to hack them to bits with. So I steered the convo towards something I considered safer. "How about a castle theme with a bouncy castle?" I say. YEAH, he says, "then we can jump up to the top and do FLIPS and if you can't do flips you can't be in the castle". Ok, no bouncy castle. How about a gymnastics party, that was fun when we did it with the Cranes! YEAH, he says, "then we can do flips off the top of the foam blocks onto a trampoline where we can bounce and do another flip". Ok, no gymnastics. So basically my choices are: 1. certain death from a broken neck from doing flips or 2. food fight. Hmmm, maybe we'll wait until he last minute after all.
