Even with careful planning, notifying Santa that we would not be home but he should still bring gifts to our home to open when we get back, packing lightly, etc..., we still brought home double what we took with us. This was a challenge due to the fact that we were FULL on the way out there. Some careful organization was required for the return trip, and thank goodness dh was there to pack this time. Most of the extras are for other people we live near. SIL will have a large assortment of baby clothing to fish through. I can't wait to go through them, live vicariously, with her. We also brought back a stomach bug (stopping every hour for puke breaks really prolongs an already long trip) and dh and Oak brought home head colds. Dh was more severely affected since he didn't get to cuddle into a comfy seat and sleep the whole way home. In fact, due to the tailbone situation, he drove pretty much the entire trip. I think I drove 2 hours of it. Gah. Poor guy. We discovered that people do not get sick in Kansas. How do I know this? I know this because it took us an hour off the beaten path (I70) to find a stinking pharmacy. Phenylepherine (the new but worthless decongestant) does nothing for Neall or I. You can still buy products with Pseudoephedrine in them, but it has to be from a pharmacist. Well, there are none in middle Kansas. We finally broke our no-Walmart rule and found some, but it should definitely not be that difficult, especially if you have a head cold. And I'd like to give a shout out to the pharmacist at Wally-world in Salina, KS. Yes, sir, you CAN buy Sudafed, even if you're from out of state, as long as your ID is valid, which mine was. Thankyouverymuch. That guy actually admitted to hating his job in a totally unprofessional conversation with a coworker right in front of me. It firmed my resolve to never shop at Wal-Mart again.
In other news, I'm going to request an x-ray of my rear end. I hope to get a copy so you all can laugh at a picture of my butt. I've got this nagging feeling I'm going to need documentation of the injury for some reason. I've learned that if I have a nagging feeling about something, even if it doesn't make rational sense, I need to listen. I'm hoping it will mean my chiro care is covered entirely since there's not much else that will help. A girl can dream.
And on that note, I have a poopy diaper to change and youngins to get into bed. I'm glad to be home, back in front of the computer. Next order of business, breaking in the new MarioKart game we got from my dad. Wahoo!
