I've been agonizing over the end of the school semester (my own school). See, I don't need any of the classes I'm taking this semester. Not only do I not need the credits, my GPA isn't even affected since those courses don't transfer into my new program. So anyway, I have to do this final paper/power point presentation in my Cornerstone class. It's got to do with art and politics and the "artist" or group of artists has to come from one of the concepts we studied. I have to choose from slavery, chicano/a, or feminism. Naturally feminism speaks most loudly to me but it was my most recent paper so I thought maybe I should focus elsewhere. Then it hit me. I'm currently obsessed with this concept of protesting naked for political gain. I think this is a fantastic concept. If used correctly our bodies could prove to be a very powerful force. I look at it as turning the tables on society. Our bodies ARE powerful, but I don't think this is what "they" had in mind. So anyway, anyway, lol, it hit me today to do my paper and subsequent Powerpoint presentation on Naked For Peace, and the subsequent groups all over the world who've used their lovely bodies to make a bold statement. That's art, huh? I double dog dare my instructor to say otherwise. Is there anything more artistic than a group of naked women of all shapes, ages, and sizes? I think not. NOW I'm excited to finish out my year, lol. I'll post it here when I'm done. Anyone with insight or good links to this topic please feel free to post them.
And Dawn, I'd love to come visit in a couple of weekends and work on this. I can pick your powerpoint-savvy brain and the kids can play.
