Mastitis? Something else? Softimus Prime!

This morning I slept until 11. While I don't feel all that bad, I felt really resentful of leaving the bed. It's the beginning of what you know will be a nasty illness, kwim? So I dragged myself out of bed craving that corn, black bean stuff and realized quickly that we didn't have Balsamic Vinegar. I decided that since it was so fantastic outside I would go ahead and walk with the kids to the store. So, I got the sling, Ergo and the stroller out of the van. Shortly after dh left we headed to the store basking in the sun, watching the clouds roll by, knowing our time in the sun was limited. We raced around the store and headed home to avoid the severe weather approaching. I forbid the kids to come into the house until they felt raindrops and was out on the sidewalk talking with my neighbor and watching our babies play with each others hands. Suddenly we heard a loud rumble/vibration. We both looked to the sky and said "is that the wind?". At some point we both ran for our homes and I was screaming for everyone to get inside. Zella was on the porch, Finn was putting his bike away. I snatched the baby from the stroller just before the wind took it and twirled it around in the air dropping it on its wheels 4 houses up the street. The roaring noise was incredible and I thought we were going to die in what I was sure was a tornado. I turned to grab Zella and the wind caught her and lifted her in the air throwing her against our front door. I wrestled her into the house and told Winnie to get into the basement handing her the baby at the last second. Zella didn't appear to be hurt terribly so I ordered her into the basement as well. I ran back to scream to Finn who hadn't appeared from the driveway and found him getting blown backwards instead of making his way to the house. I grabbed him and we struggled together up the driveway actually going onto our hands and knees at the end. I wrestled the doors open and ordered him into the basement as well. I flipped on the tv to see if we were under a warning but there was not even a blurb on the bottom of the screen. I calmed a bit and told the kids to come upstairs. I checked Zella over and she went to sleep in the Amby hammock. Oak was tired too so I took him upstairs and got him to sleep and came back to snuggle a shaken Winnie and Finn. It was some time before we all settled back into a routine. I felt really crappy after the adrenaline wore off and thanks to Dannielle I did some moderate exercise to help work off that adrenaline surge. Is it Mastitis? Not sure. Could just be the junk going around, whatever Oak has.

While we were calming down the weather went from 71 degrees to snow and 20's. The wind continues now, though not as high speed, and I have no idea how many shingles that blew by were ours, or whether there are other damages to our house. The window I thought was gone is still there but it's hanging precariously. There is a window in the back yard already from the porch. I thought the roof was going to leave us. Now things are icy and snow covered. I'm wishing dh was home because it's going to be nasty driving for him tonight.

A warm spot in our evening is the American Idol auditions :oD. And our neighbor has the coolest toy ever. We saw the Transformers movie recently and I surprisingly LOVED it. It has the action scenes the boys like and a sweet and endearing story I like so it was a good family movie choice. Check this out! Oak loved playing with this and it's on the list for his birthday.

I hope you're not coming down with what Xiney and I have had, its a doozy.
And yeah, that weather was insane yesterday! It was balmy and sunny in the morning, but I had the radio on and they said tornado watch for St. Louis county and city. I was in the bathtub and told Maxine to watch out the window and come get me out if she saw any trees blowing down the street, lol. But none did.
