Lalalalala Feelin' Groooo-vyyyyy!

Well, not really, but singing it is fun! I still don't feel awful, but I don't feel great either. Either this is the worst it's going to get or I'm doing a good job of keeping it at bay. I simply don't have time to be actually sick. The boob is better (thank you for asking Dannielle, lol) and the kids seem to be on the mend as well.

I ran out this morning because, of course, we were entirely out of bread and hot chocolate. You simply cannot survive a snowstorm without hot chocolate so I thought "I'll just run to Aldi". Heh. Not wise. Because of some good-natured samaritans I was able to cut in line with my 4 items but had I been forced to wait in line I would still probably be there. Aldi was a MADHOUSE. I had intended on going there first and then stopping by SnS for WIC items just to have them in case we needed them. After seeing Aldi I figured that to take WIC checks into SnS would forever label me as "that evil b*^$@" complete with picture-dartboard-style on the wall in the breakroom so I skipped it and we will be roughing it these next few days. I suppose we can live without those 2 cans of tuna and that block of cheese. We'll try.

I'm working on a day-in-the-life photo montage because I think it will be really funny when our enormous snowstorm "biggest storm of the season" goes north or south or fizzles out entirely I will have it documented. And if, by some miraculous chance, the weather people are right and we DO get snow, well then I'll have that documented as well. I'm actually looking forward to being snowed in. Neither of us needs to go anyplace (dh is off the next 2 days). Saturday is the much anticipated office party and I'm excited. My MIL is ready for the kids, has been planning a fun evening for them for a couple of weeks. Sunday we're invited to the neighbors for a Super Bowl commercial party which I think is hilarious. They have a big screen projector and dh has been jonesing for one for a long time so this is my opportunity to see if it's really as cool as he says it is. I'm skeptical but remain open-minded.

School is going fantastically well except that I must talk too much or something because nobody responds to me in my online class, lol. In all honesty, and I know this comes across as conceited but it's really just one of those honesty things, I think it has more to do with being further along in the program than most of my classmates and being older (and wiser ;) ) than many of them as well. I've worked hard to earn my ribbons as a mom and someone knowledgeable about children and their development. Most of my classmates are just out of high school, some of them have a child but most don't. I think my responses to questions are over the top of their heads in many cases. For example, they think standardized testing is a good thing. 'Nuf said. I am learning a lot in my "nutrition, health, safety class", much to my surprise. I am looking forward to applying my knowledge to our efforts of eating better and becoming healthier at home.

And so, look for my day-in-the-life post tomorrow. It's just started snowing.

LOL, I have the standardized test fans in my Into to Education class, too. I'm trying to decide how much I should really release my philosophy of education in there.
Enjoy the snow!!!
