Old Granny

Dh's grandmother is 101. We spend our day with her every Thursday visiting and reminiscing about the good old days, back before there were such things as the internet and cable television and even telephones in every house. Well, I suppose it was inevitable but last Saturday she broke her hip in a fall. She's very forgetful and had been heading for the bathroom without her walker. They replaced her hip in surgery this morning and she's doing fine. At the same time Aunt Mary, who Granny lives with, had cataract surgery. She's doing well also. They will be discharging Granny to a rehab facility or nursing home later this week. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She keeps forgetting she broke her hip and they have to explain it all over again to keep her from going to the bathroom or something. She's a spitfire ;). It will be a major adjustment for her children to have her in a nursing home, and an adjustment for her as well. A tough holiday all around this year.
