I WON!

Wahoo! I won the dress up outfit giveaway posted in Jo's blog (see a couple posts down)! I never win anything, but can't say that anymore can I??? Woo-hoo. This is especially wonderful since I have overspent on our adopted Christmas family. I had already planned a lean holiday for us because we simply don't need stuff, lol. I had only a couple of small things for Zella though and this giveaway will round it out nicely :o). It was all money well spent but I was anticipating the Playskool toys from another giveaway to have arrived. They haven't and I'm not holding my breath. The stuff for the adopted family has to be dropped off Thursday, a couple of weeks before Christmas, so the last minute crunch is earlier than it would normally be. I'm pretty much done though, just a gift card to the grocery store left on my list. I feel so fantastic about doing this this year. It really warms me all the way through to have done this. The kids are so excited about it too and will go with me to drop off the stuff. They wrapped a good portion of the stuff too. I left most of the stuff labeled but unsigned and I hope this family feels comfortable signing their own names or Santa's name so that the kids have no idea that times are tough in the house. The magic of the season carries on.

The ice storm is creating havoc as well. We missed the first round. Round 2 is underway right now but so far hasn't been too major here. There is ice on the cars, on the sidewalks, but it's not thick and the street crews have managed to maintain order. I'm sure Neall had an adventurous drive to work this morning but the phone didn't ring so I'm assuming he's fine. I had planned to keep the car today but a sore throat (again) and impending ice changed my mind. I am actually contemplating taking antibiotics. Dh is on abx, motrin, decongestant, mucinex, whatever they can throw at it. He's been sick for almost 2 months. I have too, but it comes and goes a bit so every time I plan to suck it up and go to the doctor it goes away, lol. It's back and I'm not amused.

By the way, it's 10 am and Oak and Zella are both still sleeping. Wow.
