Does juicy gossip count as a serving of fruit?

Just one of the many ponderings today. I've got fruit servings on the brain. I'm trying to be more conscious of my eating habits. I don't know that any attempt at weight loss will be successful since I'm tandem nursing but at least I can start the path towards feeling better. By my calculations, weight should come off naturally. In keeping with my "working poor" theme I'd like to comment how very difficult it is to eat healthy on a budget. Sure, sure, it looks good on paper that it shouldn't be too hard, but in real life healthy just aint cheap. Fresh fruit and veggies add up when you're talking 5 servings each for 5 people. Do the math, that's 10 small apples a day for the 2 adults and 7 1/2 apples a day for the 3 children (1/2 apple is a serving). Now, obviously we aren't eating JUST apples, but golly that's quite a fruit bowl, dontcha think? The painful truth is that kool aid is cheaper than organic (or even non-organic) 100% apple juice. Cheaper juices are full of hfcs, blech. Anyway, healthy is expensive. As soon as dh is working we're joining a CSA. That should help a ton.

Speaking of Neall working, he should have a job interview by the end of this week. The major healthcare company that he aced the assessment for a week and a half ago is FINALLY getting around to scheduling interviews. Another phone call the other day promised at least an email and interview with another company as well but so far we've not heard from them. I'm starting to be worried. I'm sure dh is as well. All we can do is wait I guess, and hope the house doesn't get repo'd in the meantime.
