So much for falling hamsters...

So the forecast for hamster-sized snowflakes (during morning rush hour, I might add) was totally off base. Normally I wake up too early for humans, load cranky kids into the minivan and drive Neall all the way to school on Thursdays. School is a traffic-jammed hour drive. Considering the possibility of further traffic due to snow, we planned extra time. It was all totally unnecessary. Upon waking at the ungodly hour we discovered that not only had it not snowed hamsters, but it had even stopped raining. With partial credit to the wind, the roads not only weren't slushy, they weren't even WET. Part of me was grateful for not having to drive in the snow. Another part of me was annoyed at having lost a precious 30 minutes of sleep for nothing. Aw well, at least I got to enjoy my coffee.

On the menu for today is coconut curry lentils. I have a friend bringing her young daughter over to play (and for us to visit) and I'm totally excited. If for some reason she cannot come, I still have the curry coconut lentil ingredients and I will figure out how to make it. Doesn't that sound heavenly? Nothing like some curry on a gray and chilly day.

I have a religious question for those of you who might know. What happened to "souls" before the coming of Christ? A close friend of mine (who can speak more respectfully about religion than anyone I've ever met of her religious persuasion) says that those anticipating the coming of Christ still went to heaven, even if they died before he actually appeared. But what about before the word Christ was even a word? What about, say, ancient civilizations who existed long before the even impending coming of Christ? Where are they now? Truly, I'm curious. I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all. My upbringing was non-religious and I now identify as Pagan. It is my belief that we're all after the same thing, just taking a couple of different roads to get there. That's overly simplified but truly, "I love all you's guys!" (that's a line from a Stanley cartoon episode for anyone wondering about the quotes and the strange language, lol). So where are all those souls who never had a chance to love or follow or believe in Christ? Discuss.
