A reminder to myself. Snipped from the novel-length book post below :p.
I'm determined to be content in this home, in this neighborhood, for as long as we are here. We're not going anywhere so we'll make HERE work. I've also realized that I cannot use "no money, no time" as an excuse. I must MUST do it without either of those things if I have to. Apparently I have to. Organization and cleanliness has been done for a century without the benefits of smelly-good cleaning supplies and shiny plastic organizing bins. If I don't already have it, and can't afford it, I'll make do with what I have. We can decorate boxes, use bowls and toy bins and baskets and find new uses for old. I'm kicking myself for tossing the tupperware ;). DUH GWEN, you don't have to use it for FOOD. Child art work can go into unused frames and hung proudly. Tables can be covered with cloth to change their appearance. Clutter can be removed to get to the real potential. Decors can be fashioned after whatever nick-nacks we have floating in the basement from our lives pre-children. I'm betting those things mean more to us than any new stuff we lust after.

Gwen, if you are serious, I will come and help you- but you know I am BRUTAL. I have a war with clutter.
My suggestion would be that I come on a WED (that is garage day there right?) and we post a few garage sale signs. Then we post a sign in the yard for a FREE garage sale. As people take your stuff, we can be inside bringing out more stuff.
I did one of these one time and NEVER ever regretted it. It was a blast, and some people even cried with joy (the pregnant lady who got my nursery set).
Anshow, of this interests you, find a sitter for your kids, and I will find one for mine.
We can accomplish two thisngs: a whole day together- with no kids, and a MAJOR declutter session.
I am serious. Neall and I are doing the upstairs today. We're starting at 9 (coffee first, lol) and we're not stopping until it is done. I'm beyond ready to be brutal. I will need your help with downstairs. I don't know if Wednesday will work but I'll see if I can find out. I'm not sure on child care. Winnie could probably go home with a friend. So could Finn.
I would also like to put out a donation jar for donations to a friend of ours. Things are at critical with them, and if someone would like to give, great. If not, they don't have to. Do you think people are less likely to take stuff if they feel they're supposed to make a donation? I need stuff gone primarily. I'd like to help them too though.
Becka, you rock!
