College textbooks. Every year a new edition. Usually this means a new prologue. The soft cover book I need for my online class is a whopping $104. That would get me a week and a half of groceries. 1/4 of my stroller. 1/5 of a house payment. One heckuva night out with dh. A whole pile of new underwear for everyone in this house. One of the coolest fuzzy blankets ever. Shall I continue?
So, on a hunch (and a mission) I decided to see if there was another way.
Mythbuster #1, ask your instructor if they have an extra copy. My ECE 124 class did. $75 saved there by borrowing it.
Mythbuster #2, check the library. One of my books was available for checkout. Another $25 saved.
Mythbuster #3, interlibrary loan. The book in question was available for in-library use on campus but on a hunch I wondered if another campus had it. SLCC is part of a network of libraries all over the country. I searched. I found. It's available for checkout. Who knew? It never would have occurred to me to try interlibrary loan. There were 4 copies available. I'm torn between shouting my genius to the world or shushing up so they don't get wind of the no-buy-books revolution and pull them from loan.
I just had a genius idea, I need a pin or sticker that says "$$$ textbooks" with a big circle/slash through it! People would wonder and maybe ask and I could covertly spread the news.
I had another great idea the other day. I had it when contemplating my future. Progressive preschool. I'll explain later. Snack/movie time is upon us.

Coupla oopses. I think you meant 'edition' instead of 'addition' but I could be wrong. Also, I think you meant 'so, on a hunch' instead of 'son, on a hunch'. :p
