Same old, same old.

Neall is sick. He's been sick for weeks, one thing after another. Oak's fever ran 103.6 under his arm at it's highest. I got a fantastic doctor on the phone who was covering the phones for my doctor. If our doctor ever decides to drop us or go out of business or whatever I know where I'll go. He didn't go all alarmist on me and ship us to the ER, he said that bathing him in a cool bath wasn't all it's cracked up to be, that it was sort of a band aid on an inner issue (and totally unpleasant). He said to give him a dose of tylenol (ibuprofen earlier hadn't done anything) and if it wasn't down in an hour to take him in. He suspected that it would be down. He also said to call him first so he could call ahead and get the ER off the track of no vax etc. He said he'd just have them get a look at him and not let them go nutso with IV's and benign tests. He said that his kids would be in bed by then and he would come on up himself and check things out. How cool is that? He offered all of this before I mentioned anything. He only asked about vax because he thought it might be a reaction to a recent one. When he heard we homeschooled (ruling out picking something up at school) then he figured we were no vax. Anyway, he was awesome. The tylenol worked and the fever has been under the alarming point since then. I've been letting it run it's course, partly because the doc said to do what I felt comfortable with unless it was 103 or higher and partly because it puts him into sleep mode and he rests. With the fever down he's just fussy and agitated. He doesn't feel well but he wants to play.

My ear is still the same, lots of pressure and it feels just dead. I have very little hearing and lots of ringing in that ear. The NP called and said to give it 2 weeks before worrying. I cannot imagine 2 weeks of this. I'm making an appointment with my doc on Tuesday. The kids have gymnastics anyway so I'll need the van. Might as well let my doc get a look at it if I can. Something just isn't right in there. There shouldn't be pressure with a perforation and it shouldn't be healed over yet. Who knows. The only option really, afaik, is tubes, which are usually reserved for young children. It's not common for adults. I managed to get the sheets changed on the kids beds and the mattresses febrezed. My bed is on the agenda today and the windows are open airing the house out. Germies go away!

So, Winnie, Finn, and Zella are all feeling well, they've been quite cooperative, playing on the computer and generally being pretty good. That's been a blessing.

Dawn, fingers and toes are crossed for you. I hope all continues to be well and that you can settle into a normal pregnancy soon. How stressfull for you. Hugs and forehead kisses are coming at you from here in abundance. Please let me know if you need anything.
