Ah, rain and a day at home

It's nice to occasionally have a day at home. 2 of my 4 are still sleeping so I've actually finished a cup of coffee without it needing to be reheated several times. What a concept. We may have a friend visiting today but I haven't heard from her yet so who knows. I suppose the kitchen cleaning should be near the top of my list today but so far I'm feeling lazy. It's not even 9 yet so I have some time to get motivated.

The kids have hopefully been exposed to Rubella thus giving them immunity. Time will tell I suppose. At any rate, we got to spend a fun evening at a friend's house splashing in a pool and sitting around talking. Her birthday was yesterday and she was bumming about the cancellation of her party (what 6yo wouldn't be?) but we chose to head over anyway and I'm glad we did.

I just noticed popcorn on the floor. Guess I should add sweeping the living room to the never-ending list of chores. I also just noticed the over-stuffed laundry basket dh brought up from the basement. I guess that's probably a hint huh?

Oooh, time for a list!

sweep kitchen
dishes
sweep front room
laundry
trash out
mop new room
make tea
creamer ice cubes

The group "milkshake" on channel 9 stinks. How'd they pick those people? I can sing better than that, and that's pretty bad, lol. I can't help but be gearing up for fall. The sky is overcast, rain is coming. My head thinks that means it's going to start cooling down. The weather forecast is not supporting that, lol. Oh well, fall will be here soon.

My birthday is in a few weeks and I'm actually looking forward to it for the first time in a few years. You see, my birthday is September 11 so that day has been somewhat ruined for pretty much the whole nation, especially those with a birthday that day. I've chosen to celebrate other days in past years but this year I was too busy to plan another pseudo-birthday. I doubt there will be much excitement. I'm getting a new bathroom, re-done stairs, and a laptop. I suppose that should be enough huh :P. My mom said something about sending money for my stroller. I may abandon the stroller dream (wah!) and use it for a share with the coolest community farm. www.threeriversfarm.org is the neatest place, and the produce we had the privelage of eating was excellent. The pick-your-own aspect is very appealing to me as well. The kids had a blast up there the one time we went and I can't imagine that would grow old for them quickly. It's a bit of a drive but if we drop Neall off at work on pickup day we'd be 45 minutes from there or so and it's a lovely drive.

In other produce news, the kids like Edamame. No, they don't like edamame, the LOVE it. I never would have guessed. It's a simple food to prepare, delicious, and the kids actually want to eat it. It will be on the shopping list from now on, though I cannot figure out where I will find it, lol. I doubt shop and save carries it.
